Attention on a Monday Night

QOTD: "Well, [midgets] are God's little punch lines." ~Cleveland (Family Guy)

Kind of annoyed right now. I thought things were getting better, and then this happens. I don't understand it. Grrrrrrrrrrr. You know who you are, we need to talk.

So today I woke up and my foot is a little more swollen than before and the toe next to my big toe is starting bruise. So I put up my foot all day except to go to class. That will drive me nuts. I hate being stuck in one place for so long. If I am ever bed ridden, I may go nuts. I really don't want to have to go to a hospital for this, but if it doesn't start at least looking better soon, I may have to. If you have ever broken a toe, feel free to leave advice.

Is it sad that I get excited when my classes have homework? I'm used to at least a couple good sized homework assignments a week, per class. It's kind of a relief, but rather weird too.

Contact is such a good movie. There are so many political things hiding inside the plot. I was talking to Nick the other day and he brought up something that I found rather interesting. You can tell a lot about a person by what they think the writer is trying to get across with it. What does this movie mean to you?

Not much more. I leave you with some more The Academy Is...

Attention! Attention!
May I have all your eyes and ears to the front of the room,
if only, if only for one second.

This table has taken a turn for the worst.
Rock bottom and over the edge
well it's not like it hurts that much anyway.
Upside down and inside out.
When I leave here I'm going alone.
Well it's not like, it not like it hurts much anyway.

Attention! Attention!
May I have all your eyes and ears to the front of the room,
if only, if only for one second.
Will you hear what I have to say?
Oh, did I mention when I see you it stings like hell?
To the fact that we could have something that'll never happen.
Will you hear what I have to?

This balance has weighed out our heart's desire.
I'm trying to make it alone.
Well it's not like it hurts that much anyway.
Upside down and inside out.
When I leave here I'm going alone.
But I'm dying, I'm dying to touch.
And it's not like, it not like it hurts much anyway.

The Phrase That Pays on a Sunday Night

Nick is right, The Academy Is... really just grows on you. Really enjoying the Almost here CD. Good stuff.

Yup, it's definately broken. So on Saturday afternoon, after hanging out at Pike for a while, not planning to go on the water slide, I am finally convinced to go down it. Second run, I catch my pinky toe on something and roll my foot, breaking my toe. Yeah smart move, I know.

I made Chicken Piccata today. Turns out its not as easy to make as my mother makes it seem. So kudos to my mother for being able to pull it off so well. One of these days I'll perfect it.

Sometimes I feel like I'm being used and they know I can't say no. I'm just too nice of a person. And how can you turn down these people, honestly?

I wish I was a guitar star. I love to play it, but I suck so much when I try to play anything remotely hard that I want to quit shortly after playing. I always feel like my housemates are going, "Dear Lord, he cannot play worth anything, would he just shut up?" I don't know when I became self conscious, but I am when playing guitar.

The only thing worse than breaking your toe, is everyone feeling sorry for you. Understand my pain and inability to walk well right now, but don't feel sorry for me, it just annoys me.

My little brother, Danny has finally gotten on Facebook, and all I can say is it's about time. It looks like he's enjoying it anyway, as it was meant to be. I was thinking about calling him today, but I'm always leary about calling him. He's at the Air Force Academy which at times, makes Rose look like a slacker school, so I don't want to take time away from him that he needs.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, Wendy's. I love their chicken nuggets. And frosties. Bliss.

Nick finds new mathematical article and we all get excited. We are such tools...

Love ya, Katie.

No, Dad, Katie Hagerty.

Rome:Total War is an amazing game. I wish I had come across it before Danny left for the Academy as I know he would have loved that game. Some of the scenes are simply cinematic. Sometimes I can just sit and watch Mahoney play it and have fun.

Aaron is coming for our Snobs and Hobos party. I am excited about that. I haven't seen the guy in years, it'll be good to see him again. I understand a lot of what he is going through right now, as I went through it not too long ago. Speaking of which, I really hope I get my letters and hat back soon. It's getting cool out and I could use my hoodie back.

So I haven't done the whole points thing in a long time, So here are some long over due points. First of all, 85 points to Maggie and Killer for wanting to cook us food and coming over to the house a lot. It is so much fun to have the two of you over. 25 points to everyone who placed their votes this week in the Fantasy Football league. 20 points to everyone who has RSVPed to our party, and another 40 waiting when you get here. 30 point to Katie for a nice phone call, and 24 points to Steph for some fun pictures. 15 points to Wendy's for chicken nuggets and frosties, but -20 for being rude and closing early, before Maggie got there. 30 points a piece to all who came to B-town with us, for a good time. 15 points to Mother Bear's pizza, for the obvious reasons. 20 points to ISU for making me feel smart again, but -230 points to the ISU Financial Aid office for being comepletely retarded and not knowing anything and making things as difficult as possible and losing paperwork. And another 75 points to anone who leaves a comment that makes me smile (bonus points for creativity, i.e. not simply Cardinals rock, but that does make me smile).

Now here is some The Academy Is... to sink your teeth into. These lyrics has really rung true for me lately. As cliche as it may be, we really need to live life as if it's your last day here on earth. So live life with no regrets and rock out to some TAI.

My eyes can't believe what they have seen.
In the corner of your room you've stockpiled millions of my memories.
Oh Doctor, Doctor, I must have gotten this sick somehow.
I'm going to ask you a series of questions,
And I want them answered on the spot, right now.
Is it serious?
I'm afraid it is.
Am I gonna die?
Well son, death is gonna catch up to all one day,
But yours is coming quicker than ours, than ours.

Some things I may have taken for granted again and again,
well here's what was said then

Hold your head high heavy heart.
So take a chance and make it big,
Cause it’s the last you’ll ever get.
If we don’t take it, when will we make it?
I make plans to break plans,
And I’ve been planning something big, planning something big, planning.

I’ve never tried to make the best of my time,
When I thought that I had plenty of it.
Is this serious?
I don’t know what to think.
Is it all a lie?
Well one thing is for sure
I'm taken back to the glory days
When we were kids without a brash or bitter thing to say.

Now my life is one big make it, or break it.

Hold your head high heavy heart
Save your strength for the morning after.
So take a chance and make it big,
Cause it’s the last you’ll ever get.
If we don’t take it, when will we make it?
I make plans to break plans,
And I’ve been planning something big, planning something big
So take a chance and make it big,
Cause it’s the last you’ll ever get.
If we don’t take it, when will we make it?
I make plans to break plans,
And I’ve been planning something big, planning something big, planning.

Seaon on a Wednesday Night

Ever just want to slap some one really hard? Ever go into a battle of wits with an unarmed person? Ever just wonder, "WTF, mate?" If you never have, and would like to, read this.

Wow.

Adam says funny and creepy things in his sleep...

Still confused...damn.

You never realize how OCD you are, until you have a house and you have a place for things, but people don't follow them, as if they should know.

Mike watches some of the weirdest flash videos...

Notice the moving of some people to the TSAV Groupies Category in my Links. If you would like be considered a TSAV Groupie as well, let me know and I'll move ya. If you think you were wrongly moved, I'll move ya back.

Not much else to write today.

Been in a The Academy Is... modd alot lately. Good band, but I'm only hooked on a couple of songs so far. Hmmmmm. Well enjoy some TAI.

Wake up, think fast, three weeks have passed.
We are changing. No sleep, no gas, no excuses will pass these lips
Cause we're shapin' up to be all you wish you could have been
To write the hits and to turn their heads
And to open eyes (open your eyes) to a brand new season,
A brand new season.

So show me something we haven't heard yet,
But I'm not convinced and your heartless songs won't stick.
But I, I'll sing you something you won't forget
For the first time I know this is now who I am.

Wake up, think fast, three weeks have passed these lips
Cause we're shapin' up to be all you wish you could have been
To write the hits and to turn heads (to turn heads, to turn heads)
And to open eyes (open your eyes) to a brand new season,
A brand new season.

So show me something we haven't heard yet,
But I'm not convinced and your heartless songs won't stick.
But I, I'll sing you something you won't forget
For the first time I know this is now who I am.

You'll see what we mean,
You'll notice when we're gone.

So show me something we haven't heard yet,
But I'm not convinced and your heartless songs won't stick.
But I, I'll sing you something you won't forget
For the first time I know this is now who I am.

Something Beautiful on a Sunday Night

The irony of the title....

Hmmmmm, not sure what to say. I know I need to talk to a couple people about something completely unrelated. But I'm not sure what to say to either. I want to talk. I really do. I hate things being so frickin' confusing and being completely in the dark. I am so afraid of betraying friendships. Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

If you think you are one of these two people, come talk to me. We'll have a good talk. We should have talked before, but it's tough.

You know what grinds my gears? Grudges. Maybe it's because I am a guy, but I can never hold grudges. Maybe it's that I am naive and like to think people can change and try to see the good in anybody. Now I'm not saying I am never pissed at someone, but after a while, I get over it.

I was actually told tonight that if I told someone something that wouldn't be a big deal to anyone but this person, that this person would never talk to me again, all of her life and would be completely erased from her life. Makes me wonder how much my friendship really matters to her. That she would throw everything away for one thing. Forever. Not that I was ever planning on it. But to know that she would do that is kind of heart breaking.

On a happier note, I'm getting rather excited about the possibility of bringing a new form of theatre to Rose. I think it could be a huge hit, at least with our Drama Club, as it is so much fun to be a part of. I hope this excitement rubs off on others. But this 24 hour play festival makes me feel a lot better about not being able to do much theatre at Rose any more. I think I am really gonna miss being in those full length plays, but this....this is my baby. This is how I am leaving my mark on RDC. Introducing it somethng that I have loved and been a part of. I have already introduced a couple of friends to it, hopefully I can bring it to RDC as well.

Wow, today was the 4th anniversary of 9/11. And to think tht was my ex-girlfriend's 16th birthday. Which reminds me, she turned 20 today. Happy Birthday Jackie.

Ever wonder waht happened to people you used to be so closed to, but haven't kept in touch?

Nick was right, TAI is pretty good. He knows my taste in music pretty well, so I trust his recommendations.

Well time for bed, but I will leave you with some good ole Jars of Clay. Such an amazing band. Enjoy.

f you put your arms around me
Could it change the way I feel
I guess I let myself believe
That the outside might just
Bleed it's way in
Maybe stir the sleeping past
Lying under glass
Waiting for the kiss
That breaks this awful spell
Pull me out...of this lonely cell

Close my eyes and hold my heart
Cover me and make me something
Change this something normal
Into something beautiful

What I get from my reflection
Isn't what I thought I'd see
Give me reason to believe
Never leave me incomplete
Will you untie this loss of mine
It so easily defines me
Do you see it on my face?
And all I can think about
Is how long
I've been waiting to feel you move me

And I'm still fighting for the
Word to break these chains
And I still pray when I look
In your eyes, you'll stare right
Back down into something beautiful

God Can You Hear Me on a Friday Night

Ever been lonely in a packed room?

Ever felt like everyone was talking about you as if you weren't there?

Ever just be cofused by your entire situation in life and just be at a loss of what to make of things?

Maybe I shouldn't blog when I'm in these kinds of moods, but I just feel like I need to get this out. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but it's hard to make light of the situation when you don't know how other people feel about it as well. Grrrrrrrrr.

So freaking confused right now. I think a nice walk will do me some good. If you want to talk, give me a call, but keep in mind I will probably be working all of tomorrow. In the meantime, check out some good ole classic Tait. Rock on.

I've been here before
It's hard to ignore
I'm so used to fighting
The same old wars

Oh what do you see when your looking at me
Have I taken You for granted
I can't afford this pain anymore
Won't You help me understand it

God can You hear me
I need You here tonight
I'm tired of pretending that everything's alright
And I know, I know that You hold tomorrow
But I need You here tonight

I want to feel
I need something real
I want to go closer to You
I lay down my will

Oh this human disease it's killing me
Tell me have I been left stranded
I can't ignore this pain anymore
Won't You help me understand it

Say won't You say that
You'll carry me
Carry me through the storm
Stay
Won't You stay
Till the morning comes
Morning comes
Just stay

Drive on a Thursday Night

So my head is just simply spinning. These last couple of days have just got me confused and as soon as I think I have something figured out, something else is thrown into the equation. And in more areas than one, too. It feels like life is one big Con Apps problem, one of the mean ones too.

I feel like I am being shut out of some of my favorite parts of life, and by some of my closest friends too. It's starting to piss me off. I know they don't mean for it to happen like that, but I feel like I am just being pushed out.

I got to see West Side Story tongiht for the very first time. It is pretty good, and you only need two good singers. It may not be written for a bass, but it has some leads that aren't tenors, or at least need to be. I wish someone would write a musical where the lead character is a bass or at least a baritone. Those of us who can't sing tenor get jipped too much. That's why I like regular plays so much better. I can act a lot better than I can sing, at least songs from most musicals, as most of them are out of my range.

I finally have an adapter for the new keyboard I bought so that I can use it with my laptop, but the LEDs are broken. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

This is gonna be a long weekend, but I will be paid well for it. The Volleyball Invitational should be interesting. I'll be writing my first story for the Sports Inforamtion department. We'll see how that goes.

Well I should get some sleep. But I will leave you with some Incubus to rock out to.

Sometimes, I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear
And I can't help but ask myself how much I'll let the fear
Take the wheel and steer
It's driven me before
And it seems to have a vague, aunting mass appeal
But lately I am beginning to find that I
Should be the one behind the wheel

Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes

So if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive
Will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive?
It's driven me before
And it seems to be the way that everyone else gets around
But lately I'm beginning to find that
When I drive myself my light is found

So whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes

Would you kill the Queen to crush the hive?
Would you choose water over wine
Hold the wheel and drive?

A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More "Touch Me" on a Wednesday Night

You know what grinds my gears? Cubs fans. They look so much at the little picture, because the big picture really sucks for them. They may have won their first series in Busch Stadium in ten years, but they are still nearly 20 games behind with a losing record, and very little chance to make the playoffs. But they still seem to think the Cubs are better than the League Leading in nearly everything Cardinals who currently have the best record in baseball and are well on their way to another World Series.

You know what else grinds my gears? When a close friend talks about something, but then states that it is something that you don't get to know, as in you don't get that privilege to, but turns to a friend of yours and tells them they already know, as they told them earlier. That just pisses me off and makes me feel like I am obviously not as high on their level of respect. Well to me, respect is everything, so for someone to not respect me like that really gets to me. I don't "get to know", like I'm not good enough. It's very condescending.

I had something else I wanted to talk about earlier, but it jsut doesn't seem apropriate right now. Maybe I'll rant about it later.

I'm at a good point in my life right now. I'm kosher with not dating right now. Just play things by ear. Not looking for anything, and its a kind of nice feeling.

A Fall Out Boy and Lemony Snicket mix right now. Interesting.

I love this new desk. Such a better and more productive feel to it.

I'm rather enjoying my Abstract Math class as well. Writing proofs are kinda fun, in that math nerd way. But it's problem solving. Using any math you know to get from point A to point B. There are some steps you can take, but they are more like guidelines. I love it. About time I have a class I can get excited about.

So I haven't updated in a while, it's quality not quantity. So take that.

Not much more to write about. Here is a song stuck in my head and rings true often. Enjoy.

I confess, I'm just messed up
dropping "I'm sorry" like you're still around
And I know you dressed up
said "hey kid you'll never live this down"

And you're just the girl all the boys want to dance with
And I'm just the boy who's had too many chances

I'm sleeping on your folk's porch again, dreaming
She said, she said, she said, "Why don't you just drop dead?"

I don't blame you for being you
But you can't blame me for hating it
So say, what are you waiting for?
Kiss her, kiss her
I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late

Write me off, give up on me
Cause darling, what did you expect
I'm just off a lost cause
a long shot, don't even take this bet

You can make all the moves, you can aim all the spotlights
Get all the sighs and the moans just right

I'm sleeping on your folk's porch again, dreaming
She said, she said, she said, "Why don't you just drop dead?"

I don't blame you for being you
But you can't blame me for hating it
So say, what are you waiting for?
Kiss her, kiss her
I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late

You said you'd keep me honest
But I won't call you on it

Make 'Em Laugh on a Wednesday Night

Watched "Singing in the Rain" with Jesseca today. That is such an awesome musical. I am so jealous of Gene Kelly's ability to dance. I would give my left arm (who needs a left arm anyway, really) for Gene Kelly's dancing ability and charisma. I could any girl I wanted. If you are a girl and disagree let me know, but you know you want Gene Kelly or at least would if he were in his early 20s and still alive.

Movies of before definately have a much different feel to them. The ability to sing and dance were valued a lot more back then. Donald O'Connor is hilarious. He plays such a third wheel. Poor guy. I want to write a show about the main character's sidekick. That guy that is the suporting lead and just gets screwed but smiles through it all and supports his best friend who seems to get any girl he wants.

I can't wait for Pike Foam. I love dancing so much. I've missed it a lot this summer. If you want to go to it, let me know and I'll get you more details, but it's goona be a blast.

I am so glad to see everyone getting back. I hope I still get to see a lot of the Rose people. It will be a lot harder, that's for sure. I'll just have to drop by and say hi every once in a while. Those of you who live in sororiety houses with ridiculous rules, you'll have to come by the TSAV house.

Had a good talk with my dad tonight. I am glad we can talk about stuff. Definately makes things a lot easier. I just wish it was more of a two way street.

Chicago is playing in the background. Gotta love it. This is the second year in a row that I have roomed with a Chicago fan. Good stuff. Such nice and chill music.

"Can you dig it? Yes, I can."
~"Saturday in the Park", Chicago

Rather looking forward to Sports Information this year. I think it's gonna be a lot of fun. We need to prank Kevin again, before he gets us back. Mwahahahaha, this is gonna be a fun year.

Well, I should probably get to bed. So I will leave you with some Singing in the Rain to enjoy. And if you have never seen it before, I suggest you rent it. It's amazing.

I think this song sings true for blogs too. People really want to be entertained. People comment more when there is a joke or riddle. However, my blog is not simply entertainment, but me expressing my observations and seeing what your thoughts are on them, or if I'm just crazy. Anyway, enjoy some Donald O'Connor.

Make 'em laugh. Make 'em laugh.
Don't you know everyone wants to laugh.
My dad said, "Be an actor, my son,
But be a comical one."
They'll be standin' in lines
For those old honky tonk monkeyshines.
Or you could study Shakespeare and be quite elite,
And you charm the critics and have nothin' to eat.
Just slip on a banana peel, the world's at your feet.
Make 'em laugh. Make 'em laugh. Make 'em laugh.

Make 'em... Make 'em laugh.
Don't you know everyone wants to laugh?
My grandpa said, "Go out and tell 'em a joke,
But give it plenty of hoke."
Make 'em roar. Make 'em scream.
Take a fall, butt a wall, split a seam.
You start off by pretending you're a dancer with grace.
You wiggle 'till they're gigglin' all over the place.
And then you get a great big custard pie in the face.
Make 'em laugh. Make 'em laugh. Make 'em laugh.

Dance, Dance on a Tuesday Night

Currently watching Closer. Such a screwed up idea of love. They throw around that word like it's a frisbee at a picnic. Shouldn't love be more? How can you possibly say you love someone and then go around and have sex with some other person. Does sex not mean anything any more? What does love really mean to people any more? Nothing. Just another word. Just something to say to try to get what you want. And that's just sad. Just sad that something once so special is tainted in the world today.

Such parallels drawn in this movie. Oh the irony.

Still in such a Fall Out Boy mood. Great music.

People are getting back and it's pretty nice to see everyone again. Terre Haute is beginning to feel like it aught to. And that is mighty nice.

Had dinner with Elaine tonight. It was nice to talk to her again. I am so jealous of her surfing trip. I really want to try that. Anyone wanna go to San Diego?

Not much to say tonight that I can post on a blog. I should call my dad tomorrow. I could use his advice.

I think I will simply leave you with some Fall Out Boy.

She says she's no good with words but I'm worse
Barely stuttered out
"A joke of a romantic" or {just} stuck to my tongue
Weighed down with words too over-dramatic
Tonight it's "it can't get much worse"
Vs. "no one should ever feel like.."

I'm two quarters and a heart down
And I don't want to forget how your voice sounds
These words are all I have so I'll write them
So you need them just to get by

Dance, Dance
We're falling apart to half time
Dance, Dance
And these are the lives you'd love to lead
Dance, this is the way they'd love
If they knew how misery loved me

You always fold just before you're found out
Drink up its last call
Last resort
But only the first mistake and I...

I'm two quarters and a heart down
And I don't want to forget how your voice sounds
These words are all I have so I'll write them
So you need them just to get by

Why don't you show me the little bit of spine
You've been saving for his mattress, love

Dance, Dance
We're falling apart to half time
Dance, Dance
And these are the lives you'd love to lead
Dance, this is the way they'd love
If they knew how misery loved me

Why don't you show me the little bit of spine
You've been saving for his mattress (mattress, mattress)
I only want sympathy in the form of you crawling into bed with me

Dance, Dance
We're falling apart to half time
Dance, Dance
And these are the lives you'd love to lead

Dance this is the way they'd love (way they'd love)
Dance this is the way they'd love (way they'd love)
Dance this is the way they'd love
If they knew how misery loved me

Luck Be A Lady on a Sunday Night

I have class tomorrow. No one else does. This is crap. Blah.

So our Back to School party did not turn out as planned. We had some unexpected curves thrown at us and not enough people came, so we have plenty of left over supplies. What happened to the 45 people who said they would be there on facebook? I would say of those 45, only 10 or 15 came. Gah!!

I'm not sure how to approach a certain issue. The general concensus is that something needs to be done, but what? Such a messy situation. I am generally someone who doesn't care about confrontation, but what is the appropriate way to go about this? Tough decisions await me. Sounds like a fortune cookie...

Today for some reason, I have just been stressed and worn out. Any little thing like poor communication or someone parking in my spot makes me want to shoot something. Nothing to get mad about, but I am, and it just makes me feel retarded. So I just go somewhere and have a seat, close my eyes and just breathe. Just breathe in, breathe out and just regain my composure.

Katie thanks for the awesome talk. I definately needed it. You are such an awesome person to talk to. You totally rock, but you knew that.

I am so glad Lindsey and I are still as good of friends as we are. Not many on this planey know me like she does, so talking to her is such a relief. I don't have to explain myself with her. She already knows. Sometimes I think she knows me better than even I do. And she gets every joke of mine and it's just awesome.

Well I should get some sleep, but I will leave you with some Guys and Solls that we watched tonight. Such a wonderful musical. I am going to be so jealous this spring when Rose performs it.

They call you lady luck
But there is room for doubt
At times you have a very un-lady-like way
Of running out

Your on this date with me
The pickin’s have been lush
And yet before the evening is over
You might give me the brush

You might forget your manners
You might refuse to stay
And so the best that I can do is pray

Luck be a lady tonight
Luck be a lady tonight
Luck if you’ve been a lady to begin with
Luck be a lady tonight

Luck let a gentleman see
Just how nice a dame you can be
I know the way you’ve treated other guys you’ve been with
Luck be a lady with me

A lady never leaves her escort
It isn’t fair, it isn’t nice
A lady doesn’t wander all over the room
And blow on some other guys dice

Lets keep this party polite
Never get out of my sight
Stick with me baby, I’m the guy that you came in with
Luck be a lady tonight

A lady never flirts with strangers
She’d have a heart, she’d be nice
A lady doesn’t wander all over the room
And blow on some other guys dice

Lets keep this party polite
Never get out of my sight
Stick with me baby, I’m the guy that you came in with
Luck be a lady tonight

Sophomore Slump Or Comeback Of The Year on a Thursday Night

Totally in a Fall Out Boy mood all day. Totally rocking.

So home was a rather nice change of pace. When did my family become so friggin' busy? I can't remember the last time I had a real homecooked meal, which if you know my mother's cooking, you know thats really sad. I long for some Mom's cooking.

My birthday was awesome. Thanks to everyone who put their efforts in to make it as awesome as it was. Witt, that trip to Taco Bell was a blast. How pitiful was it that everyone else passed out before me at my 21st birthday party? Pretty pitiful.

So apparently I have been tagged. So I am supposed to list ten things that make me happy and then tag five more people. So here it goes:
1. The Cardinals
2. Baseball in general
3. Friggin' awesome friends that go through the effort to actually plan something for my birthday.
4. Relient K and Fall Out Boy
5. Fun random calls from the people I love
6. Hearing from my little brother when he even goes out of his way to contact me.
7. Awesome hot tub conversations
8. Someone you can talk to about anything and everything after everyone has gone to sleep.
9. My TSAV bros
10. Skirt season

And now I am going to tag:
1. Katie Hagerty
2. Steph Hagerty
3. Elaine Kratz
4. Leslie Obst
5. My Dad

So there you go. Take that. And those I tagged, let me know when you do it.

So I have started classes at ISU. Looks like they will be interesting and managable, a good combination.

Killer has been here since I got back from St Louis, and it has been fun to have her around. She made awesome enchiladas tonight. They were quite tasty.

Tony LaRussa, manager for the Cardinals has just climbed above Sparky Anderson for sole possession of 3rd place in the All Time Wins for a Manager. Congratulations, Tony, you deserve it. What a better pitcher to bring him this win than Matt Morris, someone who has struggled, but Tony has hung with him through the thick and thin and Morris has come through for Tony time and time again since his rookie year. Truly a historical moment. Now let's get Tony that World Series ring as the Cardinal skipper.

Well I don't have a lot to say tonight, sorry, but I will leave you with this Fall Out Boy song that has been stuck in my head all day. Good song.

Are we growing up or just going down?
It's just a matter of time until we're all found out
Take our tears and put them on ice
Cause I swear I'd burn this city down to show you the light

We're the therapists pumping through your speakers
Delivering just what you need
We're well read and poised
We're the best boys
We're the chemists who've found the formula
To make your heart swell and burst
No matter what they say, don't believe a word

Cause I'll keep singing this lie if you'll keep believing it
I'll keep singing this lie
I'll keep singing this lie

Are we growing up or just going down?
It's just a matter of time until we're all found out
Take our tears and put them on ice
Cause I swear I'd burn this city down to show you the light

We're traveled like gypsies
Only with worse luck and far less gold
We're the kids you used to love
But then we grew old
We're the lifers here till the bitter end
Condemned from the start
Ashamed of the way
The songs and the words own the beating of our hearts

Cause I'll keep singing this lie
I'll keep singing this lie

Are we growing up or just going down?
It's just a matter of time until we're all found out
take our tears and put them on ice
Cause I swear I'd burn this city down to show you the light
There's a drug in the thermostat to warm the room up
And there's another around to help us bend your trust
I've got a sunset in my veins
And I need to take a pill to make this town feel okay

The best part of "Believe" is the "Lie",
I hope you sing along and you steal a line
I need to keep you like this in my mind
So give in or just give up

Everything You Want on a Wednesday Night

I got my new monitor today. And it is gorgeous. I bought a beautiful 19" CRT Dell monitor off of TigerDirect.com for a measely $70. Yes, that's right, seventy dollars. And I totally love it. I have the monitor set to a 1600x1200 resolution. I can see so much, it is awesome. Never thought I would get this excited about a computer part before. The toolation process must be complete.

So I am rather disappointed that Elaine was the only one to properly repsond to my last post. I thought it was a pretty awesome idea. I think it's neat to see how much we look for different and yet very similar things in the people we would like to date. And what we want changes a lot, even guys.

My Cardinals now officially have the best record in baseball. That's right my team totally rocks. And they climbed to this with only half of their straters healthy. I'm not even mad, that's amazing.

I come home this Friday. I am rather looking forward to that. It should be a good time. The games on Saturday and Sunday are not sold out yet, so let me know if you'd like to see a game with me, as I would love to see a game while I am home since I couldn't most of this summer.

Finished the third Harry Potter book today. I must say it is pretty good and rather different than the movie in a few parts. The first two seemed to seemed to be almost exactly the same as the movies, but not the third. But these changes are not bad, in fact interesting changes. This is one reason I like to watch the movie for such high selling books before reading them. There are going to be differences. Period. That's the way making a book a movie works. But very rarely do you read the book and are disappointed after seeing the movie and think the movie is so much better. However, often the movie doesn't quite do the book justice. This way I am not disappointed. However, I am now to the fourth book and the fourth movie is not out yet, and I don't want to just stop, but continue on. Such dilema.

Anyone have a PS2 to USB adapter that I can borrow for a month or so?

I got to talk to Michelle last night. That was awesome. I haven't talked to her in so long. I haven't seen her at all this summer. Such sadness. I really miss her. No one here understands my love for the Cardinals like she does. She's also such a great person to talk to. We were so close in high school. What happened?

I've also been talking to Jennah again on Facebook. Such an awesome site. Very smart whoever thought of it. I miss seeing her during the summers too. I am definately gonna have to go see her this year. Anyone up for a road trip to Memphis for a weekend?

Hehe, so apparently there is a bar in Belleville called Shenanigan's. I just can't resist...

But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun!
Yeah, and his shenanigans are cruel and tragic.
Which... makes them not really shenanigans at all.
Evil shenanigans!
I swear to God I'm going to pistol whip the next guy who says, "Shenanigans."
Hey Farva what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy stuff on the wall and the mozzarella sticks?
You mean Shenanigans?

So Nick's little brother Tim is here for the week. Should be an interesting time. He's a fun kid. And wow I didn't realize how similar these two really are.

Wow, Red Vines. Apparently you get your daily allowance of Sodium if you eat 500 of them. Too bad you would OD on sugar before you got that far.

It's getting late so I will leave you with some Vertical Horizon that I have been loving. Enjoy.

Somewhere there's speaking
It's already coming in
Oh and it's rising at the back of your mind
You never could get it
Unless you were fed it
Now you're here and you don't know why

But under skinned knees and the skid marks
Past the places where you used to learn
You howl and listen
Listen and wait for the
Echoes of angels who won't return

He's everything you want
He's everything you need
He's everything inside of you
That you wish you could be
He says all the right things
At exactly the right time
But he means nothing to you
And you don't know why

You're waiting for someone
To put you together
You're waiting for someone to push you away
There's always another wound to discover
There's always something more you wish he'd say

But you'll just sit tight
And watch it unwind
It's only what you're asking for
And you'll be just fine
With all of your time
It's only what you're waiting for

Out of the island
Into the highway
Past the places where you might have turned
You never did notice
But you still hide away
The anger of angels who won't return

I am everything you want
I am everything you need
I am everything inside of you
That you wish you could be
I say all the right things
At exactly the right time
But I mean nothing to you and I don't know why
And I don't know why
Why
I don't know

Short Skirt/Long Jacket on a Monday Afternoon

I want a girl with a mind like a diamond
I want a girl who knows what's best
I want a girl with shoes that cut
And eyes that burn like cigarettes

I want a girl with the right allocations
Who's fast and thorough
And sharp as a tack
She's playing with her jewelry
She's putting up her hair
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnng jacket......

I want a girl who gets up early
I want a girl who stays up late
I want a girl with uninterrupted prosperity
Who used a machette to cut through red tape
With fingernails that shine like justice
And a voice that is dark like tinted glass

She is fast and thorough
And sharp as a tack
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnng.... lonnng jacket

I want a girl with a smooth liquidation
I want a girl with good dividends
And at the city bank we will meet accidentally
We'll start to talk when she borrows my pen

She wants a car with a cupholder arm rest
She wants a car that will get her there
She's changing her name from Kitty to Karen
She's trading her MG for a white Chrysler La Baron

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnggggggggg jacket

Gasp!!! Bob changed the format of his blog and put the lyrics first!! Hold on to your pants, it's just for one post. Last night as I was falling asleep, I heard this song and I had a great idea for a blog post. I am going to write my own verse to this totally awesome song and in a comment write your own verse. Should be an interesting response.

I want a girl that can make me laugh so hard people tell me to be quiet.
I want a girl that will grab my hand and run, with me dragging behind because she wants to show me something or can't wait to go be crazy with me.
I want a girl that melt the world away until it is only two of us, and I am the king of that world.
I want a girl that loves TSAV and loves the house.
I want a girl that loves my Saturn, and for no other reason than that's my car and I am proud of her.

She drives a stick and knows how to drive it.
She has a plan and how to get her there.
She knows what she wants, and knows when she wants it.
She's creative, and active, and loves the romance.

I want a girl with a short skirt and a loooooooooong jacket.

Okay, now your turn. I am really interested to see the responses. Peace.

Carry You on a Sunday Night

So this weekend was in a word.......a-maz-ing. Had a good time with TSAV Friday night, just shooting the shit in the C-bus and discussing plans for the next year. Building on Saturday really brought me back to my old days of Little Theatre in high school. Good times.

At night we drove down to Greensburg to see our fine Hagerty girls. It was awesome. Katie and I cooked these citrus griller pork chops and did a damn fine job. They turned out pretty well and then Steph made this chocolate chip cookie cake. That was quite the dandy treat. Then was some hot tubbing time. Man oh man, I need a hot tub. It was just awesome after a long week. Good hot tub conversation. Just totally relaxed as it should be. After chilling there for a while until it started to storm, we just watched a movie and just passed out on the couches. All in all, it was just a good time. Katie you sooo rock my socks off.

"Uh, you really shouldn't mumble, because I can't understand a word you're saying."

So we have decided upon a TSAV dream girl and will announce it at 10 at our big back to school party. So plan to be there for our big announcement. And no, we will not let you know before then. So if you are a candidate, I strongly suggest you make every effort to be there. :-P

"Mumbler! Seriously, I can't understand a single word you are saying!"

I really wasn't planning to blog tonight, but I felt it was time for another. My normal rule of thumb is that I don't update until I have at least one comment. So feel lucky.

Does she think I'm stupid? That I don't know about him? It's very obvious. I just wish she would come straight forward with me. Grrrrrr.

I look forward to going home next weekend. Should be a good time. Those in the B-ville, if you are still around and want to hang out, let me know, and we can arrange something. I will be home from the 19th-23rd.

Well I will end with some good ole Dispatch. If only I had known of them sooner...

green river flows
like grass melting
later it will run black
down its track
into an ocean
she stans on the bridge
dimlight on her back

someday
I will carry you...

I want to float higher
above waves of electric wires
stare down onto the street
see a drunk with kiln-glazed eyes
tell me about the girl I should meet

someday
I will carry you...

Forward Motion on a Monday Night

This weekend was totally rocking, and I totally needed it. Although it was rather a pain to hear "So I heard about you and Katie..." a billion and a half times at the party. I realize you just want to show your support for me, and it is very much appreciated, but at the same time, what do I say to that? Do I tell you how this has been the roughest week of my life and bring down the party? Shrug it off and quickly change the subject? Well most of the time I just went with the latter. And for those who said something along those lines, don't sweat, it wasn't a big deal and you prolly didn't know someone had just asked me that 5 minutes ago.

Anyway, the party was great and think we really surprised Elaine, which of course was the point. She seemed to really enjoy the party, so I'm rather happy about it.

I finally heard back from my little brother tonight. He survived BCT at the Air Force Academy. I need to set this kid up with a blog. That could be interesting. As well as the facebook. Yeah he needs to get addicted to that.

Well I would write more, but I need sleep and tomorrow is Transfer Orientation at ISU. So I'll leave you with some Relient K that was stuck in my head all day.

whoa-o...i've been banging my head against the wall
whoa-o...for so long it seems i knocked it down, yeah it got knocked down
whoa-o...and the heating bill went through the roof
whoa-o...and the wall i knocked down was the proof
that my landlord needed to kick me out

i got evicted now i'm living on the street
my spirits lifted...oh wait, that wasn't me
too many turns have turned out to be wrong
this time i learned that, i knew it all along

when car crashes occur
then i'll be what you were
when i see what i should
when i see that it's good (that it's good)

to experience the bittersweet
to taste defeat
then brush my teeth
experience the bittersweet
to taste defeat
then brush my teeth

cause i struggle with forward motion
i struggle with forward motion
we all struggle with forward motion
cause forward motion is harder than it sounds
well everytime i gain some ground
i gotta turn myself around again
it's harder than it sounds
well everytime i gain some ground
i gotta turn myself around again

whoa-o...i've been banging my head against the wall
whoa-o...for so long it seems i got knocked out. yeah, i got knocked out cold
whoa-o...and the medical bills went through the roof
whoa-o...and the scar on my head is the proof
that i'll still remember this when i get old

i got evicted now i'm living on the street
my spirits lifted...oh wait, that wasn't me
too many turns have turned out to be wrong
this time i learned that, i knew it all along

when i grasp the concept
then i'll sleep where you slept
when i know i need help
when i allow myself (allow myself)

Grand Theft Autumn (Where Is Your Boy) on a Friday Night

To start off, I want to thank everyone who has been there for me this past week, especially those who jumped to me side. You guys rock. It's been one crazy week, and I am glad it's over. Elaine, we made it to the weekend.

Tonight was fun. After my parents left, after checking out my house, I drove down to Bloomington to Cat's apartment to celebrate Jeff's birthday. There were a lot of Pikes there, which was pretty awesome. I haven't seen so many of those guys in so long. Spring class members were walking up to me and introducing themselves. It felt kind of weird and rather out of the loop. I need to get back and involved with Pike this year. I miss that brotherhood. It was nice to see them again, especially after such a rough week. The drive to Bloomington was rather weird though. I had never driven there for any other reason than to see Kate. However, it wasn't as weird or as emotional as I thought it would be. Maybe this means I am beginning to move on. I don't know, we'll see.

I think the best thing from this break up was that my father was one of the first I talked to the next day. We talked for a while and it was really comforting to hear his voice and that he knew exactly what I was going through. Many people try to act like they know what I am going through, or don't even pretend, but I could just tell that my dad knew exactly how I was feeling right now, and that was a very nice feeling. When he first called was the first time I started to get emotionally overwhelmed. I knew there was a lot in there, built up, and I had tried to release it the night before, but nothing would come. But hearing the familiar comforting voice, just eased everything.

I have spent more time on the phone this week, than I think the rest of the month combined. So many of my friends have been there for me, in person and just phone, but it's nice to see people looking out for me.

Not much more to say, so I'll leave you with some Fall Out Boy that has been stuck in my head, but I love this song. Eat it up.

Where is your boy tonight? I hope he is a gentleman.
Maybe he won't find out what I know: you were the last good thing about this part of town.

When I wake up, I'm willing to take my chances on the hope I forget
that you hate him more than you notice I wrote this for you.

You need him. I could be him...
I could be an accident but I'm still trying.
That's more than I can say for him.

Where is your boy tonight? I hope he is a gentleman.
Maybe he won't find out what I know: you were the last good thing about this part of town.

Someday I'll appreciate in value, get off my ass and call you...but for the meantime I'll sport my brand new fashion of waking up with pants on at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Jefferson Aeroplane on a Tuesday Night

So my world has been flipped upside down. I did not see this coming. I don't even know what to think. I don't even really fully grasp what has just happened, I guess I am still kind of in shock. My brain wants to take this all in, but it can't. If you haven't heard, come talk to me as this isn't something I want to announce on a blog, and don't worry it has nothing to do with ISU.

On a happy note, Sami and Adam, you totally rock. You two were just what I needed, and knowing how much you guys are really there for me is pretty awesome. So a billion and a half points to each of you.

I am still at kind of a loss for words, so I'm not sure why I'm writing a blog post. It hurts to think about. This is gonna take some time to get over. In the mean time I need something to become busy about to get my mind off of it. I wish I still had covers to work on, but I'm done with soccer and volleyball and I await the football pictures so I can't even start on those. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Dad, I planned to call you anyway, but I need to talk to you, so set aside some time tomorrow (today now I guess) to talk and let me know in an email when would be best.

I've decided it's all Nick's fault. It's that damn 3 to 1 ratio that this planet has set for TSAV. Nick you forgot that you can't get a girl without either Mike or Adam getting one too, or it screws everything up.

Well, I should get to bed. Call me, or IM me. I love talking and those who are close to me, I need you right now. I'll leave you with some good ole Relient K.

if it hurts,
kiss it better
you wear skirts,
i write nice letters
never said nothing with flowers
though we always talked for hours
and it seems to get much colder
when you cry on your own shoulder
and we know the show
must go on
guess i know
i guess i'll throw on

some jefferson airplane
i'm trapped and i am enclosed
but i won't complain
i'll open all the windows
jefferson airplane
i'm trapped and i am enclosed
but i won't complain
i'll open all the windows

cause when it's colder
i feel much better
when i cry on my own shoulder
i'll just throw on a sweater and go

and i'll go to undergo a change of heart, a change of clothes
and when i'm home, i think i'll go eat cereal and stare out the window

i'll make the calls
you cover your ears
niagra falls
still flows on new year's
i will save
your plunging neck-line
kiss your face
you try to deck mine
if i behave it's going to cost him
stop the rave in downtown boston
and we know the show
must go on
guess i know
i guess i'll throw on

some jefferson airplane
i'm trapped and i am enclosed
but i won't complain
i'll open all the windows
jefferson airplane
i'm trapped and i am enclosed
but i won't complain
i'll open all the windows

cause when it's colder
i feel much better
when i cry on my own shoulder
i'll just throw on a sweater and go

and i'll go to undergo a surgery to purge me of this lonely mood
and my ego, the status quo, provides me with a decent attitude
and i'll go to undergo a change of heart, a change of clothes
and when i'm home, i'll think i'll go eat cereal and stare out the window

cause you confused me more than anyone
an adjustment has begun
to let me feel the desperate need to leave what we undid undone
and maybe you could sympathize
with the bags under my eyes
and we'll see the signs are saying that we have used up all our (tries)
try to be a better person
to be a better friend
to be a better son

he tries to be a better someone
that understands the difference
and that he can't show all the people all the things that really mean as much as he could (feel)
feels like i don't remember
ever being this tired (before)
before now my eyes were closed to all of the beauty in this world

More Than Useless on a Sunday Night

Watching the Cardinals game right now. My team totally rocks. They are battling injuries from their starting right and left fielders and their third baseman and their catcher. Yes, that is half of the starting position players. And they have still won 6 of the 9 games since the All-Star break. That's just nuts. Just goes to show you how the Cardinals have one of the best and well-rounded teams in the game. Their bench players come in and get the job done. These guys have simply been on fire.

MLB has started something called MLBlogs, where fans can write a blog about baseball and your team, and they will publicize it for you. And many fans can read your thoughts on baseball and certain teams and leave comments back. And I thought to myself, what an awesome idea, but then I saw that it would cost $5 a month or $50 for the year. Yeah not that great of an idea anymore, at least not to me. I'm not gonna pay money to leave my two cents about the Cardinals. I do that anyway.

Wednesday was Warped Tour, which was totally awesome. Relient K totally rocked. Definately the best concert there, in my opinion. Fall Out Boy was fun too, but full of middle schoolers. I felt so old there. About 98% of all the people there were 18 or younger. True, that's only about 3 years younger than me, but there is a big difference in maturity level between high school college students.

So I got to see Katie Thursday night and then not again until next Monday. That means we will go the longest we have gone without seeing each other since I met her. She has Science Olympiad camp this week. She has been having fun so far, which is awesome. She loves those kids, which makes it all worth while. They love her too, which is totally understandable. They have given her a few nicknames already as well, one of which was Head Nerd. That's hot.

I got to see Jesseca on Friday, which was awesome. She brought her brother and her brother's friend who is interested in Rose with her. It was a good time. We went to see Wedding Crashers and then hit the ever traditional IHOP. Sami met us there. Since we had a couple kids coming to visit, we had to give them a taste of a Rose weekend. Good times...

Hehe, I love Family Guy and That 70's Show. Rather entertaining.

Well, it's getting kinda late here, so I will leave you with some Relient K in honor of Warped Tour. Rock on.

I feel like, I would like
To be somewhere else doing something that matters
And I'll admit here, while I sit here
My mind wastes away and my doubts start to gather

Whats the purpose? It feels worthless
So unwanted like I've lost all my value
I can't find it, not in the least bit
and I'm just scared, so scared that I'll fail you

And sometimes I think that I'm not any good at all
And sometimes I wonder why, why I'm even here at all
But then you assure me

I'm a little more than useless
And when I think that I can't do this
You promise me that I'll get through this
And do something right
Do something right for once

So I say if I can't, do something significant
I'll opt to leave most opportunities wasted
And nothing trival, that life could give me will
Measure up to what might have replaced it

Too late look, my date book
Is packed full of days that were empty and now gone
And I bet, that regret
Will prove to get me to improve in the long run

And sometimes I think that I'm not any good at all
And sometimes I wonder why, why I'm even here at all
But then you assure me

I'm a little more than useless
And when I think that I can't do this
You promise me that I'll get through this
And do something right
Do something right for once

I’m a little more than useless
And I never knew I knew this
Was gonna the day, gonna be the day
That I would do something right
Do something right for once

I notice, I know this
Week is a symbol of how I use my time
Resent it, I spent it
Convincing myself the world's doing just fine
Without me
Doing anything of any consequence
Without me
Showing any sign of ever making sense
Of my time , it's my life
And my right, to use it like I should
Like he would, for the good
Of everything that I would ever know

I'm a little more than useless
When I think that I can't do this
You promise me that I'll get through this
And do something right
Do something right for once

I’m a little more than useless
And I never knew I knew this
Was gonna the day, gonna be the day
That I would do something right
Do something right for once

Short Skirt/Long Jacket on a Sunday Night

So I am here sitting in Katie's room blogging. Katie is taking a nap, so I figured seemed like as good of a time as any to blog.

Met her dad this morning. Seems like a pretty cool guy. She told me that he was very intimidating to all other guys she has dated. I don't know, he wasn't that intimidating. Not any more than just being her dad made it. Dodged the "So why aren't you going to Rose any more question" pretty well. I didn't need to sound like a failure when I had just met the guy. The financial situation was a good enough reason for him. We went to IHOP for breakfast. I was not very hungry at all. I think that's the first time I have been to IHOP and not been hungry. But I really wasn't at all, but I ordered food anyway. I didn't want to look like a dork and just sit there as Katie and her dad ate. I didn't want to make them feel awkward or anything. So I am now stuffed beyond belief. IHOP doesn't really have any small meals at all.

If you need a good laugh, read Mahoney's blog. He seems to take the all the excitement. He has had such an interesting week, he made up for the rest of TSAV just having the most boring and long week ever.

Church was interesting. We went to catholic mass, which is rather different from my church. I was confused a lot of the time. It was very very ritualistic. But I found that even through all that ritual that I knew nothing about, I could still worship, which was nice. I liked how there seemed to be more respect for the worship and more of a reverence there, but I really like more music at church and not just old hymns. The sermon was also interesting. I didn't totally agree with him, but I do think that denominations spend too much time fighting between themselves and need to realize, that we all believe basically the same and we are all Christians, none better than another. Which he really pushed in the sermon, but then I got the opposite feel when it came to communion. See, if you are not catholic, you are not allowed to take communion. I felt rather insulted by it. I believe the same basic things and have the same reverence towards this ritual, but because I am not catholic, I'm not good enough to partake in it. Now in the Baptist church, we call all believers. No matter what denomination, communion is a celebration of what Christ did, and there is no need to worry about the little things, and we can celebrate communion together. But not in a catholic church and I felt insulted.

Well, I'll leave you with some classic Cake. Great stuff.

She wants a car that will get her there
She's changing her name from Kitty to Karen
She's trading her MG for a white Chrysler La Baron

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnggggggggg jacket

Mood Rings on a Friday Afternoon

I just feel underused here. Like they don't realize what I am capable of doing, so they are afraid to assign me stuff. I whip through programs pretty fast and without any errors. They fly through QA because I had already made sure it was as it needed to be. But they don't assign me anything. WTF?

I love Bander's post from a few days back. There are some good points there that I think many girls don't get. And in case you think I am singling any one out, I'm not at all. I say girls, as in girls in general. If you don't think you have a problem with a lot of them, you might not, but your gender as a whole does. For more guy rules see an old post of mine.

Well not much more right now, so I will leave you with some old, but hilarious Relient K. I know I have posted these lyrics before, but they still crack me up. Please no one take offense to these as chances are they are not talking about you. However, ironically enough, if you take offense, maybe you are one of those girls. Let me know, I'll order you a mood ring.

we all know the girls that i am talking about
well they are time bombs and they are ticking
and the only question's when they'll blow up
and they'll blow up; we know that without a doubt
cause they're those girls, yeah you know those girls that let their emotions get the best of them

and i've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man
let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings
so we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off
cause we'll know just what they're thinking
cause what they're thinking...

she's so pretty but she but doesn't always act that way
her mood's out swinging on the swing set almost every day
she said to me that she's so happy it's depressing
and all i said was "someone get that girl a mood ring"

if it's drama you want then look no further
they're like the real world meets boy meets world meets days of our lives
and it just kills me how they get away with murder
they'll anger you then bat their eyes; those pretty eyes that watch you sympathize

and i've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man
let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings
so we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off
cause we'll know just what they're thinking
cause what they're thinking...

she's so pretty but she but doesn't always act that way
her mood's out swinging on the swing set almost every day
she said to me that she's so stressed out that it's soothing
and all i said was "someone get that girl a mood ring"

cause when it's black (it) means watch your back because you're probably
the last person in the world right now she wants to see
and when it's blue it means that you should call her up immediately
and ask her out because she'll most likely agree
and when it's green it simply means that she is really stressed
and when it's clear it means she's completely emotionless (and that's all right i must confess)

we all know the girls that i am talking about
she liked you wednesday but now it's friday and she has to wash her hair
and it just figures that we'll never figure them out
first she's jekyll and then she's hyde....at least she makes a lovely pair

mood ring oh mood ring
oh tell me will you bring
the key to unlock this mystery
of girls and their emotions
play it back in slow motion
so i may understand the complex infrastructure known as the female mind
